SLINT.

Well it has been a long time since the last post, well, here we start again and we have a new guest here. It is about a very special band called Slint, its history is quite short but however this band wrote its lines in the evolution of rock. The members of this band only recorded two albums "TWEEZ" and "SPIDERLAND". Both albums are marked by a strange atmosphere that could be the beginnigs of the nineties grunge, their sounds go across a journey between, psychedelic rock, post-rock and jazz riffs. It is a very interesting experience have this band beating in the brain. Totally recommended. This band needs no lots of minutes to be heard, but sure you will spend lots of them trying to understand what was happening in sentences like "I've got a christmas tree inside my head" (Kent. Tweez album). Now, just enjoy and hear open-minded.

This is a very special band, they only use human voice to simulate the artificial instruments, the only real hardware they use is a drum, the rest they make is pure and powerful voice. A TIME TO FLY IN A ZEPPELIN

Led Zeppelin is one of those bands that doesn't need any presentation or introduction, it's famous just for being itself. Its members: Plant, Boham, Jones and the semi-god Page are the kind of guys that make magic only appearing wherever they go. A very good example of that is the appereance of Mr. Page and Mr Jones in one of the foo-fighters concerts, everybody got really astonished and the performarce couldn't be more than perfect. Well, now let me share with you some of my LZ favourites.

As an extra data i have to admit that i really love the way Mr. Jones plays the bass, those lines are very very special and i like to study his technic of doing that, it's the prove that you don't have to use enlightening technics to show how to play the bass.

THE RAMONES

No matter what people say about punk, we have to admit that punk music is the kind of music that let normal people express what they want to. Ramones wasn't just a punk band. The essential band was formed by four madmen, every one of them with different problems and sickness. It is pretty impossible to believe that two of them didn't speak each other for almost 20 years, the reasons: Politic views and a woman. Joey Ramone has become a hero, a very special one, unluckily he was already dead when he got into the hall of fame. The original band ended its career in 1996.

Nowadays punk it's different, some bands are excessively depressive, others are excessively aggressive and others are excessively commercial. Maybe the essential dream of punk that every person in the world could make music is quite lost.

By now here you have three of those wonderful Ramones' songs. The first is a rarity: Baby I love you (dedicated to my girlfriend), the second, another ballad: Needles and pins and the third one the incredible Pinhead. Just: one! two! three! four! Gabba gabba hey!!!

Interpol is not just the Internacional Police, it is the name of a wonderful band formed by four fantastic musicians. I have really nothing special to say but this band is in my special favorite bands. Interpol is the present of the evolution of a dark past that had begun with the extraordinary Joy Division, wich leader was the carismatic and suicidal Ian Curtis. Interpol's music is a trip inside of the deepest and darkest places of love but in the same way its music is as clear as flowing water. Nowadays Mr Banks has just released his solo album under the name Julian Plenti, and like Interpol, the album it's just great, quotas of mistery mixed with deep feelings.

Blind melon has a very interesting history. They only have 4 albums in a long time of musical life, however those albums are great even the new one from 2008. Now, let's share some of their songs. Any Blind Melon fan would recognize them. The first is Skinned, a live version, the second is a power 90's ballad, Change; and of course the greatest No Rain.

If you look into the sky and have a map of the universe, you can find a very big group of small stars, they are called The Pixies. The were called like that because they were like the small dwarves in the fantasy tales. Now, The Pixies were a wonderful band of small stars, not even one of them is known by working alone, they are known because of their team work, they are known because they were the main band that influenced Nirvana's music, they are known because of their great and simple music. Enjoy these songs the first taken from the album Bossanova, released in 1990 and the other one taken from the album Doolittle released in 1989. The songs are All Over The world (my favorite) and the Inmortal and everlasting Hey. Let's "Pixies" a while.

Let me introduce you a brand new band even when they start playing in 1998, their debut album saw the light in 2005. They are a team of rocking girls from Stockholm rocking the fuc.king world. Their sound has some pop tones, talking about voice, mixed with the force of pure rock and roll. Bad girls, good girls? It doesn't care, their music is not bad at all even more when their main influences are bands like Metallica, Guns and Roses, Motorhead, Queens of the Stone Age and many more. What if you meet a man, a short one but with the biggest arms you have ever seen? Maybe you're in front of Glenn Danzig. He was the singer of the first Misfits, one of the bands that have influenced the most in the history of rock and roll and the history of bands like Metallica and Guns and Roses. As soon as Danzig left the Misfits he turned into one of the forgotten gods of blues rock and heavy metal that fights against time to show that the soul of a rocker is always young and ready to give everything for a dream. His voice and his music are that kind of drug to feel that rock will never die. So enjoy these songs and have a tasty beer while you listen to them. The first one is, in my opinion, an experiment, the second is one of those examples of blues rock.

What a kick-ass guitarrist. This John-5 has enough experience to be one of the best guitarrists in the world. This man played with White Zombie, Marilyn Manson and many more. He has been doing music since 1984, during the last three or five years he has been showing how good he is doing what he is good for. THE DOORS. A everlasting homesickness

Let's begin by the beginning even if for Mr. Morrison his only friend was always the end. The Doors is one those bands that are made to be remembered through the years. All of their songs are written to visit magic places. Places where everything can be destroyed or re-made just by the sounds of any Doors song. Manzarek, Kriger, Densmore and Morrison were that kind of life miracles, a whole team full of crazy and mad ideas: Create a religion, kill somebody, propitiate orgies. Any kind of stuff that drive people out of their minds.

Morrison was always a poet, maybe he wasn't the best, but the universe he had inside of his mind drove him to live one of the most kinky rock lives. A life full of extravagances, full of love and hate, full of happiness and sadness and overall a life full of music. All of that can be felt in that end song.

Maybe one day we could spend some time drinking mystic heated wine in heaven with you Mr. Morrison. God bless you and your feast of friends
